(Boy With Blue Toes)



He came bursting through the arched doorway

and woke me with a kiss on my nose

and a grin as big as the morning sun.

He handed me an empty cup

and asked for hot tea,

and danced around me as I filled his

cup, pausing only for a moment,

to gaze with wide eyes as I

sprinkled in the brown sugar to taste.

He cheered as I handed him the cup,

now full of warm cinnamon delight.

"Thanks mommy," he said

as he stood staring up at me

wearing superhero underwear

and a brand new spiderman t shirt.
