A love poem-I don't do too many of these, but I wrote this one for Matt. |
Septembers Waltz Sheltered by a wrought iron canopy and resting upon sheets of white satin untarnished our limbs intertwined, our flesh dusted by shadows, we would lie awaiting Septembers Waltz to come sneaking in, needling us with her burdens. For a single moment we were allowed to enjoy the simplicity, before the leaves began to crackle and the winds brought about a deeper chill, and I found that your love alone was not enough to keep me warm during the changing seasons. It was through time that I became restless, though part of me wanted to stay in this place we had found, I knew that leather bound talisman which hung around your neck bore no inscription nor direction and in a seconds decision while you lay sleeping, I pulled myself from your grasp and found my way from whence I came. The wind whispering your name all the while. I left you to the hunt all alone in hopes that someday you would open those handsome eyes of your yours and realize the crimson dragon you seek has always stood before you and even now, you dwell unknowingly so, in it's shadow. |
