Take away the pain.
Take away the aloneness.
Take away the bitter taste,
that I get when I watch you leave.
Take away the years I've lost
to selfishness, and pride.
Take away the memories I never
will share with you, lost to yesterday.
Take away these tears I cry,
they've never helped much anyway,
and the pain has never stopped.
Take away the anger, the burning
in my soul that lingers still.
Take it all away!
Give me peace, and make
me forget my horrid, stupid life.
Let me sleep gently tonight,
fade softy,
and feel no more pain.
