Crossed the Line

  A line,
Too easily crossed.
A moment,
Too quickly stolen.

I want it all back.
Each kiss he snatched,
Each touch he felt,
Each sight he captured.

He meant the world to me.
Yet in an instant he was gone.
Selfishly I would not let go.
Carelessly he ripped my heart from me.

I should have known,
Should have seen it all coming.
I believed each lie I told myself.
I drove myself to this pain.

I crossed the line.
The moment was gone.
Now a friend I once loved,
Is a stranger I no longer know.
