Picture book story |
I wrote this story a couple of years ago as part of three stories about a little girl named Ally. This is actually the second story and is meant to be read as a picture book but am not very artistic and haven't had the courage yet to try and get it published. Hi my name is Ally. I met a new friend today. The Sun was out today. I went into the Garden to Play. I spun and danced around the garden. I saw my football on the grass and picked it up. On it sat the biggest, scariest and hairiest spider I had ever, ever seen! I dropped the ball and ran to my Mum in the kitchen. “Mum, Mum there is this big spider on my ball!” I told her. “Think about how big you are if it is still there” Mum said “It will seem much smaller. “Oh” I said. I went out and looked at the spider and it did seem smaller. I went back inside. “Mum?” “Yes Ally” She said. “The spider is very hairy” I said “It’s just trying to keep warm like when you put on a jumper.” She told me. “Oh” I said I went outside again. Looking at the spider. I decided its hair was just like my jumper. I went back inside. “Mum?” “Yes Ally” she said. “The spider still looks scary” I said. “Well the spider might find you scary too. You look very different from him.” She said. “Oh” I said. I went outside again. I came back in with my ball the spider sitting on top. “I have made a new friend Mum” I told her. “Can I keep him? Please?” I asked. “Mmm……well…..you could keep him in the garden?” she said. “Oh” I said “Cool!” I heard my mummy sigh. I had a new friend! |
