I Remember

I remember loving You with all of me
when rainy days were seldom
and a smile was forever on my face.

I remember worshipping You
in spirit and in truth, unbashfully
and being in sync with Your spirit,
standing in awe of Your amazing grace.

I remember deeming You as "my Daddy"
when our relationship was anew,
and finding myself in none other but You.

I remember You holding fast to me
when I chose to sin last night,
and Your face was seemingly no longer in sight
because I had broken Your heart
with my fast infidelity and short-lived complacency.

I remember living this morning
with guilt and condemnation biting at my tongue
for forgiveness had not yet entered my mind.

I remember above all other things
that You love me unconditionally
without restraints or strings attached.
