A poem on sharing the gift of salvation of Jesus.
The Best Birthday Gift

Friends and family from afar
Make their way by plane and car.

Bringing food, drinks, and cake,
The tents are set beside the lake.

Candles and lights are all aglow,
They even prepared an evening show.

Everyone in formal attire
Smiles at the photographer for hire.

They gather to celebrate another year
A special day for one so dear.

The honored guest just smiles and waves,
It is not the party that she craves.

Showered with cards and gifts of love,
She knows nothing of the “Gift” above.

How did she make it this far in life?
She is a mother, daughter, and a wife.

As each new birthday passed her by,
She wondered what it meant to die.

She knew of Heaven and heard of joy,
She even knew of that special boy.

The stories played into each thought,
But exactly how were her sins bought?

She wants to know the “One True Way”
To make this year a great birthday.

She hopes this year will fill that loss
And someone will tell her of the Cross!
