True Delusion

Never again, let’s agree to disagree
That this ‘just war’ has been based on army intelligence
Congressional action; and constructive ambiguity
Clearly confused, clearly "misunderestimated"
The only choice to bridge our mutual differences
The remotely obvious once again debated...

One hundred percent chance of preventable death
A questionable answer to even the odds
All the same difference as the war on meth
An easy problem with an approximate solution
A firm estimate of huge shortages
A harmless lie about harmless pollution

Though the initial results claimed nothing but the best
The ratings now are increasingly small.
Yet, nothing that the nuclear defense wouldn’t test
The continuing resolution to the war
The remains of the divided United Nations
And the false hope of eventual harmonious discord
