Poem dedicated to a wdc friend |
Breathe As Mother Earth breathes in and out you and I breathe out and in, a silent give and take among family and friends. The lonely seconds tick at early hours of morning. Your breath, like sacred drumbeats sound the cadence of footsteps on the ground as you hear the sacred dance of healing. A dream of Jingle dancers sent your way from others on this journey who hear the same beat, who breathe it too, in and out, in and out, just as you do. As Mother breathes, out and in, may you hear the prayerful rhythm of rain upon her skirt. So dream, dear friend, of the drummer’s pounding, your heartbeat a reminder, and feel our prayers the wind has brought, your breathing a reminder. Hear the jingle of healing dancers, the rain as a reminder. And when you wake before the dawn with nerves that start to flitter, it is only a butterfly we’ve sent to remind our dear sweet sister that one can never be alone with all this dancing and drumming and breathing going on. In, out, out and in, a reminder of the spirit that lives within.
