It is tough being the youngest in a big family
I knew a little girl, her name was Peggy-Sue
She was an only child, with sisters and brothers 2+2

Growing up in this large family, it felt it was only she
She and her two parents, proud as they could be

Oh, I am sure when she was a baby
She was the center of their worlds

But when she was 5, they were 11 through 18 in age
In the book of their lives, no space for baby on this page

In early adulthood, she grew close to Mom and Dad
It seemed to her that they were all she ever had

She made a conscious choice to stay close to her family
Marrying, having babies, staying near for her parents to see

Upon reaching middle age, Peggy-Sue has hit her stride
Sisters, brothers, have they noticed? Mom & Dad show their pride

Our little Peggy-Sue, who grew up all alone
Now has a husband, children and all the riches you can own

If she could ask for anything, she knows what it would be -
Sisters, brothers 2+2, Please just acknowledge me!!
