this is a poem I wrote for one of my ex-friends.
I turn and see you smile,
yet in that smile is a hidden pain,
a pain only I can understand.
I see you laughing with friends
but in that laugh there is a misery,
that no one else senses.
I try to cheer you up,
still you remain the same.
You might be wondering why?
You might think I know nothing,
that I don't understand what you feel.
You are wrong, I understand.
I know you feel empty, dead inside.
You feel alone and miserable.
You go home tired of that smiling
Face you put on in public.
Do you see what I see?
Pay attention and you will see
I wear that same fake smile
I have that same sad glint in my eyes.
look close enough and you will seee
that I too cry tears of blood.
