I wrote this not too long before my grandfather passed.
I realize now what I’ve done. The same as I’ve always done. Never taking action, always waiting till last.
         I should go, I said.
I should listen, learn all I can.
I never listened, not to myself.
Almost too late, almost on your dying day.
Now I regret and think fondly of past days.
I should have known when you moved.
I should have known it was coming.
I should take more action and do what I have not.
If you were to ask a gambler what he would do, he would tell you that his bet was against me.
If you were to ask me, I’d tell you that my bet was against me.
         Always against me.
Never do today when you can put off until tomorrow, but tomorrow may come and you will have gone and I will have won.
         Won the bet.
         Lost much more.
But I’ve always been bad at betting, never won on a horse.
Maybe I’m just the steed to loose on.
         To loose, and truly win.
         If only I should loose.
