I hear cursing I hear blasphemy for the one that is leaving
I hear cheers I hear piety for the one that is entering

Let us cheer for the one that is leaving for he is the one that makes it possible for the change today.
If the one that is leaving was all that we’d hope for, we would have no need for the one that is entering.

I’ve heard swearing I’ve heard promises from all that have entered
I’ve seen deception I’ve seen broken vows from all that has passed

Let us pray for the one that is entering, for he may obtain the strength that so many before him have forsaken.
If the one that is entering is all our optimism, let us cheer because “The Light of the new age is here.”
