Something I think about often.
A dark hallway,
a broken lamp.
The party,
the drinks,
The things that led to her pain.
The walk,
the school,
The time,
the man.
A face that will never be forgotten
The self-pity,
the loss of self-esteem.
A lonely feeling that never goes away.
Water, a steady stream
that flows over her
but that can never wash away
all the dirt,
the filth,
the things he left behind.
He has nothing left,
all that he needs,
her forgiveness.
All that she needs,
her life,
The way it was before
A dark hallway,
a broken lamp.
