Awaiting a Title

As I lay at night I lay in my restless state

I am forced to let my thoughts run through me creating live bait

For the memories I’ve tried to escape from during the day

The sleepless nights bring opportunity for everything, including the thoughts at bay



My days without you have been forlorn

As my heart feels vacant and so it mourns

I know my feelings for you will not recede

It’s the longing I have for you that only you can fill as its need



I start to fill my head with sweet reminiscence

And it reminds me of the love we share and its quintessence

Everything with you felt so surreal

I remember my surmise when thinking if you were my ideal



My question was quickly answered when my love for you continued to ascend

Through times of sadness and happiness and things I could not yet comprehend

Loving you felt so natural, and luminous it became

When I knew that you loved me too, and that this was not a mere game



The love my heart yearned for became fulfilled

And I knew it would not leave me, rather it would continue to build

I love you with a passion, the flame inside me burns

Strong like the boughs of a tree that cannot be easily turned



I stir in my bed and realize a smile is on my face

And chuckle at the remembrance of your skill that no one else can replace

The happiness you bestow upon me has not been altered

And I want you to banish any thoughts of our love being faltered



As time continues to pass and go on

Don’t worry, don’t fret, I won’t be gone

No reasons you find should cause you to fear

Because you know with certainty that I’ll always be right here



Through the tempest storms and desolate times I know we’ll continue to persevere

Because we both know such problems that occur don’t just disappear

So when our love feels like it’s hanging by a string

Remember all the things we’ve been through and worked for, they were not small things



Although our love continues to be strong

There are many things that can still go wrong

But like you always say to me ‘’we’re a team’’

And as we get through difficult situations we’ll let our true qualities gleam



I breathe in with renewed confidence in my now tranquil state

As my heart beats profoundly free from any weight

From the fact and knowledge of our feelings it makes it impossible to conceal

That whatever we undergo together we know that this love is real
