A baby’s cry was the only sound heard that night. Confusion muffled the rest of the world. Even the black sky stood still, for it knew not what had happened. Tara Amble stood outside, her feet planted firmly in the dirt, and she looked down at the bundle of hope that she held in her hands. Everyone wished they knew more, but the only answers that had been known had died and been buried with the people who uncovered them. Perhaps there was one more holder of the truth, but by the time it could be spoken by her lips, she wouldn’t remember anyway. The baby in Tara's arms shivered. Reluctantly, Tara turned around and walked toward her car parked only a few feet away from the graveyard, leaving realities to her imagination.
