My creation of hell
this is mine.
from so far off. a memory. a voice. voices?
not a memory.
seductive. breathless whispers serenade. this scene played out again.

"WHY ARE YOU CRYING? DRY YOUR EYES AND ENJOY THE SHOW.
THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED. WHAT YOU BEGGED FOR.
YOU DID THIS, NOT I. YES, YOU."

mine. but why. why cause such misery?
a cruel caress, this murmuring.

"YOU LONGED TO KNOW EVIL. YOU CANNOT KNOW, YOU CAN ONLY BE.
YOU BROUGHT THIS UPON THEM. YOUR PAIN. YOUR VENGENCE.
AND I? I BUT SHOWED YOU THE WAY.
WHAT ANGEL CAN TRUELY KNOW EVIL? TO KNOW IS TO BECOME."

enveloped in nights terror.
let this be another dream.
a plead.
dripping again with crimson gems.
yet how?

"ONLY THE MOST INNOCENT CAN INSPIRE THE MOST ABSOLUTE.
YOU SAY YOU DID NOT KNOW, BUT INSIDE YOU DID.
YOU GAVE IN. YOU WANTED THIS.
YOU WHIMPER TO AWAKEN. BUT YOU CANNOT BE SAVED HERE.
BUT THIS YOU KNOW, FOR YOU DON'T REALLY WANT TO BE SAVED DO YOU?"

saved? a moment of confusion. is this memory or now?
i cannot recall, a twisted picture of madness, soundtracked by soulless screams.
no. there is no salvation. our crimes too great. what can save you from yourself?
lost. each of us. all. wandering blindly. searching.
though we know not what for. the beginning of the end.
I try to shut my self off from their agony.

"DO NOT FIGHT THE BLISS.
FIND EUPHORIA IN THEIR DESPAIR.
WHAT ARE THEY TO YOU? NOTHING.
THEY ARE UNDESERVING OF YOUR LOVE.
IT BELONGS TO ME NOW".

no. never. I wouldn't. would I?

"OH YES MY DEAR.
YOU AGREED TO THE ARRANGEMENT.
YOU WOULD RECIEVE THE KNOWLEDGE YOU SO YEARNED FOR.
AND IN RETURN,
I RECIEVE ALL OF YOU. YOUR LOVE. INNOCENCE.
THE LIGHT THAT BURNS WITHIN YOU."

at this, a slight smile plays over my lips. he has won.

"yes. I wished to know Evil, and now I see it too clear.
I asked to view hell and learned it's creation. my light is yours"

soft silent laughter. my last. as I gaze deep inside.
as the ember flickers out. killing the light.
so that it may never be taken again.

we all lose.
