I worte this after thinking of bobby on a motorcycle ride
There is a dove taking flight. It must get far from this place.
It's bloody, beaten, and bruised. It has fallen far from grace.
There is a heart laying on a pile of dry twigs and leaves.
It's been ripped from a chest. It twitches and shivers and heaves.
It's all alone and in mass amounts of horrible pain.
There is blood pouring from it, spreading and leaving a stain.
The wounded white dove flies overhead, sees red, and dives.
The dove stops to grab it, in the hope to keep it alive.
The dove flies for miles without stopping. Heart still beating.
They are both slowing down and survival now seems fleeting.
The heart and the dove know what deed should be done, but they're scared.
No need for words. The plan between them has clearly been shared.
The last dive as two separate souls before becoming one.
They stop where they started. The place where so much blood had run.
The blood's gone. It's clean. Peacefull. You can see far and wide.
The dove takes a deep breath, ready to have the heart inside.
The heart is calm and ready to go. It's finally time.
The dove swallows the heart. There is no more fear. It's sublime.
The dove, once white, empty, broken, and hurt, has now turned red.
The heart, once bleeding, alone, and afraid, would have been dead.
Together they flourish as a cardinal high up above.
Flying because of the biggest sacrifice and gift.....
LOVE
