A short poem that says a lot with a little.
A lonely cry breaks the silence of the night
A wolf upon a mountain top proclaims
his love for life
Shares his story of his dealings with men,
the vicious tale goes on and on
But all the men hear is a whimper
and a whine
They disregard the feeling the wolf lets out
in his awful cries
Still yet, the wolf howls to the moon,
telling its tale
Letting the other wolves hear the story
A story that, if only the men could understand,
would make them ashamed
As the wolf continues to howl,
clouds gather around the moon
and the rain begins to fall
In small drops at first,
rather awkward and slow
But changes into a steady flow
The heavens are crying for the men
to understand what they have done
To be able to see how much
like animals they are.
