A poem about lust/love at first sight. The title is an actual medical condition.
Dreaming
of you.
Your very idea
consumes me
and my every thought.
I wake up,
wondering,
waiting,
wishing for this idea to be real.
For this ideal world to meet
my expectations.
How could I have fallen?
So fast,
so hard
for you?
The memory of those subway doors
waiting,
yearning,
wishing for you to return.
Pausing for longer than
an eternity.
Time stood still.
That day.
Time stopped.
And so did my heart.
It was restarted by you, dear.
A new beat.
It's effervescent
yearning
for you to hear
how rhythmically inclined
and in tune it is
with yours.
How can I stop?
What if it does stop?
What if it was all just a silly dream?
I won't have it.
Because these beats are
pounding,
exploding,
sensationalizing.
And my chest cavity can take it no longer.
