This is the first of three poems that all seemed to come together at the same time.
The moon retreats,
slipping into darkness
Leaving the clouds above to rumble
in the dusky sky.
Rose petals, blowing in the wind,
ignite their senses
A cool breeze flows across her
warm, bare skin.
The cascade of emotions, overflowing,
as he runs his long fingers
over her supple curves,
She reaches out to him, yearning
to feel his soft touch yet again.

He stares into her, and she returns his gaze
Instantly knowing everything that
needs to be known.
Sweat still glistening on the small
of her back.
A chill runs through her entire being.
Wondering where this all began.
Now remarkably different,
and yet completely unchanged.
