What can rekindle the embers of this love?
Love’s Dying Flame

Fires burn hot, when first lit,
But flames always cool, bit by bit.
Fuel is needed, this we know,
To keep the flames ever aglow.

All too often, love much like fire,
Loses its heat, the passion and desire.
Has the fuel run out with no more to give,
Is there nothing to help this to fire live?

Quite some time, we were as embers,
Love remained, my heart still remembers!
Although sometimes dim, it was still there,
Only needing some fuel and some air.

So why choose to smother the flame,
Instead of rekindle, who is to blame?
Within me, the embers still glow,
But all I can do is cry as you go.
