The Stage of Life

The world is but a stage,
Our parts, we play with flair.
Each day a brand new scene,
With all new masks to wear.

The future is determined
By the actions of our past.
We are free to choose our roles
In an ever-changing cast.

Our lives are intersected,
Though we’re often not aware
Of the ties with a stranger,
And relations we may share.

Life’s a constant struggle -
A chess game, as a pawn.
We live, we grow, we die,
Yet the show must go on.
