Not coming back

He is not coming back
I can feel it in my bones
I am cold under my heavy coat
Left outside alone

This empty feeling
Hurts my soul
Dulls the color of fall
Makes me wonder what is real

He is not coming back
As sure as the day is long
Our goodbye this time
Final

This empty feeling

Loneliness I have never known
