I have visited 27 colleges since January of my junior year of high school. On all my visits, I found a lot of things I did not like about colleges. Some where too big, others where too small, some had teacher assistants teaching classes, while others seemed almost too perfect- like a “Stepford Wives” but in college form. Many schools did not offer environmental studies, which is something that I am very interested in pursuing. I decided to visit Connecticut College in October (October 10th) because the statistical data of the college seemed like a good match with what I wanted in a college (good size, teacher student ratio, class size, etc). I also knew that I wanted to step away from southern towns. As much as I love my southern roots (and sweet tea), I do feel like it is time to branch out. When I stepped on the Connecticut College campus, it was exactly like I wanted so badly for the former 26 colleges to feel like. Connecticut College just felt like the kind of place where I could truly grow into the person that I am destined to become.
