Seat Belts and Why They Save Lives

A short but mind spinning article about why we need to buckle up when getting behind the wheel this summer and always.

Despite laws that require people to wear a seatbelt, many people do not wear them. Why?
In my opinion...

Most people believe they are above the law when it comes to safety. Some people are not as smart as we all like them to be and, hope they should be. I used to think and say that its just laziness on their part. But , now I do not feel strong enough in that opinion.

Teenagers are cocky and believe they are invincible! I know that when I was a teenager I felt that way. Who's going to care if I live or die ! Right! Every teenager wants to be a rebel!! They just don't care and I really don't know why , because when I was a teen I really didn't know why and to this day still don't!

If you go out and ask people if they buckle up when in a car! If by chance you do get someone who will actually admit that they don't, ask them why? They really can't give you an answer or even an educated guess to why. Most people I asked just shrugged their shoulders and shook their head and had a blank look on their face!!! It gave me pause and, I was disappointed in the human class. It was just sad!!

I've seen too many senseless loss of life due to the fact that , had they used their seat belts they might still be here today!!

And what really concerns me is that those people who do not buckle up and drive with a devil may care attitude are most likely the ones who end up killing and injuring people who are innocent and are obeying the law that we have.

We as a nation have to stop this senseless loss of life and WAKE UP and realize that if something is not done soon, more life's will be taken from us way too soon and there will be more families asking the question….. WHY?

Why indeed?
