By my side

As I walk as I do on my path,
I search out that which is to walk beside me,
As I go on I can’t help but notice many pairs I see,
And it’s hard not to wonder if there is a partner for me.

My search is quite a task,
As if looking for a diamond in the ruff,
I search out that which is pure,
But along my way I only see that which is profound.
I seek a vessel covered in chastity,
But it discourages me to see constant exposed vanity.

Now you my fair lady I have walked upon,
Are you to entreat and befriend me,
Or are you just looking for a heart to walk upon?
Your beauty is great that of angles countenance,
But will you walk with me as I continue my pace?

I seek out a pure true love,
One I am willing to give in return,
Hearts only can carry so many scars,
Patience and trust only abound so long.
