This story is Romeo and Juliet with super powers, and involved parents.
“Hi, I’m Sean.” A voice said. I raised my head from the lab counter, and looked at the boy who had introduced himself as ‘Sean’. My eyes locked with not any Sean, but the Sean Svenson. I smiled dumbly.

“I’m Aubrielle” I said trying to play it cool, like I didn’t know who he was before he so graciously told me his name. It was probably a ploy because he didn’t know what my name was.

He laughed breezily. Everything about him was breezy and carefree, his creamy skin and raven black hair, straight white teeth he was so effortless. “You have a really cool name, so...” He paused nervously. What? Sean Svenson, NERVOUS? IMPOSSIBLE! “Can we be lab partners?”

I felt my stomach flop to the floor and pink fill my cheeks. “Uh, uh, Yeah sure!” I panted. “That way we can have chemistry” I joked pathetically.

He laughed genuinely, “We do have chemistry now, don’t we?” He joked back as he took a seat on the stool next to me. Half of my body was on fire, the side of my body that was close to him. I suddenly felt light headed. The truth is, I have a sort of crush on Sean Svenson. I don’t know him well but i know he is funny and sweet and nice, he is incredible to look at and he has a great reputation. No girl isn’t attracted to him and if he stood next to a girl who didn’t even like him she would start to swoon. But I am not swooning right now, I am fainting and the stool has just slipped from underneath me and I am falling.

“Whoa, Are you okay?” Sean interrupts my dream like slow motion falling. I think I am on the ground and now I am suddenly aware of a strong, warm arm wrapped around the small of my back. I shuddered with... attraction? Satisfaction? No, Now I am swooning, completely swooning. I laughed nervously and panted a bit, he must think I’m crazy. I struggled to get up, he had caught my back and saved me from hitting my head on the floor, what an amazing boy, If I was pink before I am red now. Red as a tomato, Red as blood. All the blood in my body has migrated to my face, It’s like I am upside down and I am going to faint again.

“I’m not okay!” I said quickly. “I have to go get a drink” I said running out of the classroom. I was vaguely aware of everyone staring at me, as well as Sean who was going to go talk to the teacher. I ran to the water fountain and the cool, iron-tasting water splashed onto my chin and into my mouth.

“Do you usually faint like that?” Sean asked, he must have followed me out here.

“Well I had a late night and skipped breakfast, The last time I ate was like... 8’o clock, last night” I explained leaving out the part that I have a huge crush on him and its hard for me to control myself.

“Oh, I know what you mean, Late nights are pretty common for me too.” Sean said. “I told the teacher I was going to take you to the nurse and she said we can both re-do the lab during lunch”

I smiled, and sighed. “Thats really nice of you, but I don’t think I need to go to the nurse, I just need some food and a walk”

Sean grinned charmingly. “Okay, let’s go to the pizza parlor and I’ll treat you to pizza” I smiled again. Everything he did was so sweet, now I am really falling for him, truly. But I don’t know him very well still.

“You don’t have to, I have granola bars in my locker” I protested not wanting to be a burden. He just laughed, his laugh made my heart flutter because I knew in my heart that no matter what happened he was never laughing at me.

“Come on, Let’s go” He said walking down the hallway.

“Aren’t you worried about being seen with me?” I asked. Unlike Sean Svenson I was not the most popular person in school, most people thought I was quiet while those who I have talked to think I am crazy, I can be vengeful if I feel wronged. Some people just know to stay out of my way.

“Why would that be? I’m just buying pizza for a pretty girl with whom I have chemistry.” He said wish a winning smile. My stomach flip flopped again, Maybe as I get to know him I wont swoon at every word.

I giggled, and swooned. We walked to the pizza parlor, it was just across the street from the school and the fresh air started to make me feel better, but awakened the ravenous hungry that had been dormant in my stomach since last night.

“Four slices of Pepperoni” Sean told the man behind the counter in the pizza parlor. I had mentioned that I liked pepperoni the best on the way but how many slices did he expect me to eat?

“Thats a lot of pizza” I said to him as I leaned on the counter beside him. I was trying to be my normal self and be coy and witty as usual but it was kind of hard to be myself around him, though I’m sure he would still be nice if I wasn’t the giggling, swooning freak that I am acting like.

“Yeah, two slices for each of us? and if you only want one slice I can just eat your extra, I missed breakfast too.” Sean said with a smile. I smiled at his smile, we were standing close to each other and I am sure to those around we looked like a couple. Maybe we really did have chemistry. What a horrible, reoccurring pun.

         “What about drinks?” I asked.

“Oh yeah! Totally forgot!” He laughed and rubbed the back of his head, it was like he was embarrassed, embarrassed in front of someone like me? This can’t really be happening. “Also, can I get a coke for me and...” He paused and looked at me.

“Orange juice” I said to the man. He nodded and pressed some buttons on his cash register. He brought us everything we ordered and we went to sit at a table by the window.

“So why haven’t I seen you around before?” Sean asked after finishing his first bite of pizza. I smiled and quickly swallowed the chunk of pizza in my mouth.

“I was home schooled with my brothers by my mom but then my parents got a divorce last year and I went to High school” I explained. My parent’s divorce didn’t bother me, I knew that they were different. Their ideals were very different, My three brothers ended up going with my mom and I stayed with my dad. My father and I were very close, many people didn’t think he was a good father, or a good person but how would anyone know if he was a good dad because he’s never been anyone’s dad except my own. I was his favorite because we had the same special qualities, but thats a secret for another time.

Sean just nodded, “You seem really familiar, did you know that?” He asked.

“Yeah, You seem pretty familiar too, we must have met before” I agreed, something about him I’ve seen before, not just by passing in the hallways. I recognize his voice and way of talking. Maybe we met before in a past life.
