An interpretation of a painful experience.
I know
I won’t be coming back this time.
You look so perfect as you sleep.
Maybe because that’s when you can’t hurt me.

I undress you
With my mind, I’m caressing you,
Tracing my fingers down your chest
One last time.

Do you know
That I love you more than I could ever contain
In a sentence?
You wouldn’t care.

I’m leaving,
Closing the door,
Slamming this moment shut,
Before it destroys me.
