A poem written whilst being kept up by snoring.
A strong gasp
An abnormally loud snort
Wheezing
Spluttering
Heavy breathing
Unbearably loud

Sound pounds
Through his nostrils
Hurting my mind

Nudge
Slap!
Nothing but a gentle stir and then back to the one man band

I stare at him
Rising and falling
He looks so peaceful
Then I take him off mute

A meaningless apology leaves him
He is as useful half asleep
As he is intoxicated

Rage and frustration take over
I kick out
Stifling sounds between the mattress and the pillow

I’d murder if he wasn’t so beautiful

Frustration carries on rising in the form of tears
Will it ever stop?
Please stop.
