A child you crawled into your cocoon, as the metamorphosis inside took hold.
A child so young did become so bold.
Willing to put her heart on the line, time after time.
She showed me courage and love I thought I'd never know.

And as these years have gone by, I've watched you emerge from your shell, to become my beautiful and most precious butterfly.
Forever I will love you with a love so pure, and as you fly along this path called life, from your side I will not deter.
I'll carry you when your wings are too tired to beat.
I'll watch over you as you so peacefully sleep.
