Essence

That essence of being, the essence of soul,
That fundamentally, renders us whole.
Those necessary things that make us survive,
Helping us glide, through hardships in life.

That essence of warmth, the essence of feeling,
That elementary part, we find so appealing.
Those primary things that make us combine,
Helping our relationships to mould and define.

That essence of power, the essence of gain,
That requisite, that drives us insane.
Those vital things that make us succeed,
Helping our comfort, bequeathing a need.
