Story of a tragic event that occurred in a boy life. ( Fictional )
Little Tommy, like any ordinary boy, lived in a small village named Minesweeper. It sounds strange compared to the things the villagers do here. It was a village full of hunters and fishermen, besides the dilapidated shacks, muddy roads and the smell of fish and raw meat, Minesweeper was a wonderful place to live.
Tommy always admired his father - he was a fisherman . Everyday, his father would take him to a bay near where they lived and teach him about fishing. Tommy would pay very close attention to what was being taught.
It was about fifteen years and three months into Tommy's life, when he decided to ask his father to go with him to catch fish. When his father heard this, he was in a state of terror. ( Tommy's father, Sam was afraid this day would come ) When his son would ask him this question. " But why was he in fear ," everyone asked himself. The reason for this is because when Sam was younger he almost drowned at that same bay, and was afraid it might happen to his only son whom he loved so much. The decision was made and Tommy was given a yes; it was not a firm yes, more like no it sounded.
The next day, they set off on the fishing boat his father used. They got a far distance off into the bay and waited for quite a while but caught nothing.
Sam told Tommy " keep trying na ah going and take ah lil sleep." When his father fell asleep, a little while afterwards, the waves began to get rough. Tommy immediately shook his father. The boat was being tossed by the mighty winds, they were both scared but the most dreadful part came when Tommy slipped and fell overboard. There was great panic, as the strong waves slammed against the boat so was Sam's heart pounding harder and harder not seeing his son. He shouted to the top of his voice " Tommy!!! Tommy!!!!! " while gasping for breath. As Sam was about to jump in, he saw Tommy swimming through the harsh waves which showed no mercy for both of them. Atlas, Tommy was safe in his father's alms. They hurried back to shore where they were completely safe , the expression on his father's face was one of great relief and a sense of pride. He couldn't believe his son could have made it! It just shows what may have happen in the past, may not always be what happens in the future.
