The first effort to put, on paper, a character that has been in my mind for some time.
In the evening, when Mira was finally alone, she realized that hadn't thought of her personal feelings for a long time. Instantly, everything came flooding back, all those carefully held back emotions were surfacing. Mira's breath became heavy, and her face was soaked with tears before she even noticed they were filling her eyes. It had been several weeks, and during that time, only the feelings of other people had been filling her soul. Mira couldn't even recall a picture of her own face.
She ran to the bathroom to look at herself in a mirror. Mira met her own eyes in the flat metal reflection. She saw her narrow and pale face, and her thin hands wiping her wet dark eyes. Mira noticed most of all that her face was weathered with hours of crying. She knew what had happened. A few moments recollection had spilled over in a swift blow of emotion. Suppressing the feelings did not keep them from existing and eventually being set free.
