(This story takes place on a dark and stormy night, at about midnight. A whisper comes from somewhere….)

Jeffy: Did you hear that?

Man: Hear what?

Jeffy: That noise, like a whisper.

Man: Go back to bed.

Jeffy: I can’t.

Man: Why not?

Jeffy: They are coming to get me………

Man: (Worried) Who? Who is coming to get you? WHO?

Jeffy: Them. The ones that whispered. I hear them. I see them. They……are……here…

Man: What’s going on Jeff?

Jeffy: I really don’t know, but I want it to stop!!

(Eerie screech comes from the corner, the same place that the whispers came from.)

Jeffy: I heard it again, it’s getting closer.

Man: I’m scared……..

(Lights go dead. Jeffy screams. “The Thing” growls)

Jeffy: (Crying hysterically) HELP! HELP! IT HAS ME……….

Man: I can’t.

Jeffy: WHY THE HELL NOT?

Man: Because the monster is you.

Jeffy: WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

(Monster goes away. Jeffy doesn’t move. Man is still. All is silent…….)
