a poem i wrote after being drunk for a month
Sunlight
Where are you? I blame you.
Walls, ceilings, screens:
Incandescent mountains
I can't chop them down
They are beating me.

I am on my back now staring up at impostors,
The warring light bulb and lampshade,
Until i see stars
ELECTRIC SOULS
I catch you when you float up from
The battlefield
Pop-illumination I consume you
Make me holy
Stay with me until I fall asleep
And lean to dreams.

At the kitchen table sick to my stomach
Sorry sight sipping black coffee
Poisoned, I slept through the whole day again
Maybe tomorrow sunlight
I am sorry
For now I look to the embers
Of my cigarette.
