Poetry. A bit abstract and written in 'free verse". Love survives the end of days. |
Time Passes By By Richard Vance Time passes by... And although it seems inside We haven't changed, This journey sure has taken us A ways along the road; Our shoes have worn, A little gray adorns, Some wisdom gained Perhaps, The newness gone; But I know for sure Our love is strong, And all the happiness remains, And stays, To light the way. Time passes by..... And smiles given just to me, I've kept and locked them all away, The twilight haze and sunny days, Will stay alive Within my heart, So very much a vital part Of me... Time passes by... And I must say, That mostly all the pain - the rainy days, Just don't seem to matter all that much; We simply learn to navigate The rocky ride; To certainly arrive At places that we never dreamed about; For, in all the scenes We've traveled hand-in-hand And stayed the course; Survived... Time passes by... And yes it's true, There might have been a time or two, We let it go, To walk our separate ways And find a different piece of ground, A different walk around, but I can say for sure, It never lasted all that long, And we were never very far away Or out of sight of love's embrace, And though we've learned Without a thought, The way to slip into each other's minds so well, So often see The hidden sunsets yet to come, There's still no guarantee, No light (just yet) To tell us what it is That lies just out beyond horizons bend... Time passes by... And in the end, I know with God's amazing grace, And angels surely put in place, We'll walk together, You and I, Till the darkness comes, Once again, we'll surely find, With peace of mind, that We have awakened from a dream... |
