Broken Glass

Shattered, broken, shards rain down,
As tears flowing fall from wells of brown.
A fragile organ, the human heart,
How easily, when mistreated, it rips apart.
Two lovers once sharing a world of fun,
Later found their hearts after all were not one.
But when the heart shatters,
Unlike the figure falling from the shelf,
It knows the pieces will fit together,
And one day will heal itself.
