Heartfelt loss of a loved one
Where is the laughter that once rang in my ears.
The soft tender touch that wiped away my tears.
The calm soothing voice that set my mind at ease.
The gentle, caring look that I so longed to please.
How could you leave me alone in this night
Without any hope of an end in sight.
The pain and the loss unbearable at times.
The frustrating torment that floods my mind.

I want to reach out and touch you again.
To hear the sound of your voice or the caress of your hand.
To stop the ceaseless crying that plagues me so.
These are just a few of the things that I thought you should know.

You left me here in this cold, empty home
Left to fend for myself feeling oh so alone.
Why do I still feel this numb with all the time that has gone?
Why do I feel I don't have the strength to carry on?
It must be because you were so vital to me.
That without you here I've nothing left to be.

So let the darkness come let me feel it's embrace.
Let it rip through this curtain of time and of space.
Perhaps then I'll dream of you and the crying will cease.
And I'll once again be happy held in eternity's sleep.
