Faction War - Ep 8: Standoff

EPISODE EIGHT
STANDOFF

Eddy and Blake come running back into the Federation Base where Cracker and Stevenson are.

EDDY
"We've got to move! The Trivial's are headed for the bridge!"

CRACKER
"And how do you know this?"

EDDY
"We just saw them!"

CRACKER
"Hmm."

STEVENSON
"How do we know you aren't some kind of enemy infiltrator and you were sent to get us out of the base and when we're gone you steal our wallets and personal belongings?"

Eddy stares blankly at Stevenson.

EDDY
"I grew up next door to you, asshole!"

STEVENSON
"Huh? Oh...yeah, Never mind."

CRACKER
"So you say the Trivial's are attacking the bridge?"

EDDY
"Yes sir."

CRACKER
"Well then it's clear what we have to do."

EDDY
"Yes sir. I'll drive the jeep. Who wants gunner position?"

CRACKER
"What are you talking about?"

EDDY
"We're going to defend the bridge...right?"

CRACKER
"Hell no. I say we contact command and declare that we are defeated."

EDDY
"But sir, didn't you say our mission was to protect the bridge?"

CRACKER
"Yes. Yes I did say that."

EDDY
"So what's changed?"

CRACKER
"Well, I will protect the bridge at any time during the day. Except when there is a cliffhanger on the hit TV show..."

EDDY
"Oh god no..."

BLAKE
"He's not..."

CRACKER
"...Days of our Lives."

EDDY & BLAKE
(Screams)
"Nooooooo!"

STEVENSON
"It's a good episode, man. Brittany is angry with Tyson because he was visiting her dying sister Ebony behind her back, all the while Ebony was really a CIA agent only pretending to be dying so she could get close to Tyson's father. I tell ya... these writers...they went to the fancy schools."

Eddy stands completely amazed at what he is hearing. Then he notices that Blake has joined them.

EDDY
"Blake! You're supposed to be on my side!"

BLAKE
"Huh?"

EDDY
"Get over here!"

BLAKE
"Yes sir."

EDDY
"C'mon, Sarge. If we lose the bridge...we could die."

CRACKER
"We all got to go sometime."

EDDY
"If we lose the bridge...we could lose our families."

CRACKER
"I don't see them volunteering for the war."

EDDY
"If we lose the bridge...we could lose the TV Cable."

CRACKER
"Oh my sweet Jesus! Eddy, get in the jeep, Blake on the gun. Stevenson and I'll take the second jeep, move!"

The group springs to life and runs outside to the jeeps and then speed off towards the bridge. Once arriving at the bridge, Eddy parks his jeep next to Cracker's. Blake and Stevenson stand at the rear guns on each of the jeeps. Cracker and Eddy stand in front of their jeeps as the Trivial jeep pulls up.
Aaron, Twimby and Charleston exit the jeep.

AARON
"Well it looks like we got ourselves a standoff."

TWIMBY
(Excited)
"Oh! I like standoffs, especially in the movies."

Charleston looks at Twimby and shakes his head.

CHARLESTON
(Mutters)
"How the hell did you get into the marines?"
