A list of some of my favorite items here on WDC |
MY WRITING.COM FAVORITES One thing I've seen on WDC lately that has really caught my attention is the influx of people recognizing their favorite items on here. I for one think it is excellent to spread the word of good works around the WDC community, so I have decided to jump on the bandwagon and start spreading awareness of authors and items that I have found particularly enjoyable. If you want some good entertainment, don't pass these up! SPECIAL THANKS Before I get into the actual favorites, there are a few people that I would like to thank. People who have supported me on WDC, entertained me, been friendly toward me, or whatever other reason. If your name is listed here, THANK YOU! First, the Writing.com staff! The StoryMaster The StoryMistress Writing.Com Support Diane "Senior Moderators" These are the people who make Writing.com possible. Without them, none of us would be doing any of what we do here. Thanks you guys! Second, RAOK:
Random Acts of Kindness has been generously giving out upgraded memberships to deserving individuals for a long time. They have given so much to the community and have helped many looking to make a bigger impact here on WDC. They have gifted me with my upgraded membership, and they deserve gratitude. THANK YOU, RAOK! I really REALLY want to thank everyone who has rated and reviewed my work. I don't have the capacity to list every single person, but you know who you are. You have helped me tremendously, so thank you all very very much for all that you have done. A writer is nothing without readers, so you guys make me who I am. Thanks, guys! butterfly388 recently awarded me my very first merit badge! She has dedicated a lot of time to helping newbies and assisting others. She also has a contest going right now that you may want to check out:
redrocketricky has entertained me with his dark poetry and has been very gracious in offering me feedback on my own work. Some people might not think he's on WDC, but he is. In fact, he's everywhere. Above anyone else on this list, I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is through his sacrifice that I have found forgiveness, and so I will stand up and thank him forevermore. And last but most, the One Who sent Jesus. God, Who is responsible for everything that is. For my life, my love, my talent, this earth, every single person here. Without Him, there is nothing. So most of all, I want to thank God. Praise be to Him forevermore! MY FAVORITE ITEMS So here are my favorites. This is a list of items that have made me laugh and cry. The things listed here I keep in high regard. If you are looking for some good writing, be sure to check them out!
This is a great story. Very simple, but it captures a beautiful point. It shows how the excellence of God can touch even artificial hearts. Everyone out there who wants something great to read that will open your eyes and touch your heart should not pass up this story.
A clever little interactive in which you find some mints on your birthday that grant your every wish. The story has its flaws. There are some chapters that are sub-par, and others that are excellently done, but it has a very creative premise, lots of unique ways to go, and has even been contributed to from the great spidey . Check it out, add a chapter, and have some fun.
A very cool flash fiction piece with a very clever little twist. It's short and will only take a couple minutes to read, so why not drop by and give Bailey some R&R?
I haven't read the revised version in its entirety, but the original was a pleasure for the imagination. It's kind of long, but trust me, it's worth it. The author tells a great story and has superb use of the English language. Imagery, metaphor, characterization, it's about as close to perfect as you can get. If you can get past the length and want something that will entertain you, don't pass this one up.
WARNING: not for the faint of heart. This is a horror story and uses very explicit language and imagery. However, if you like zombie stories, check this out. It will change your entire perspective on zombies. As gross as it is, it's still very insightful.
justme has cast aside her pride and offered up this folder of embarassing anecdotes for our entertainment. The items in this folder are constantly showing up and the front page, and rightfully so. My personal favorite item is "Invalid Item" , but anything in there is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. zdadach My Muslim friend, who I like to think of as a modern day Aesop. His writings are filled with themes of life, love, and spirituality that NOBODY should pass up. The mechanics aren't the best, but his themes are so beautiful that some misspellings and poor grammar are easily overlooked. If you read any of the stuff I recommend here, please read his material. My personal favorites are "Invalid Item" and "Invalid Item" . tashlefay is a master of writing about the darker side of life. Though I haven't followed her in a while, she used to be one of my most read authors and her stuff is still very deep and meaningful. There you have it! If you are looking for some great writing, check out anything on here! Perhaps I'll add some more as I find more writing that really grabs my attention. And with all the great material here on WDC, there's certainly plenty out there! |
