You play on the the board as me but you've be taught the wrong rules Is it worth it?
Is it really worth it to wait for you?
Like a puzzle it comes together
Piece by piece a picture unravels
Reminds me of a clue in a mystery
I'm the detective and your the thief
You've stolen my heart
Damn not again
I've just sewed my heart back together from our last encounter

Your mixed messages both saying two different things
Its hard being the detective when you got two leads
One obvious but possibly a lie
He declares rejection
The other softer and possibly just him
He suggests acceptance
Has anybody ever told you that your a failure when it comes to love?
You play on the the board as me but you've be taught the wrong rules
Perhaps that's why you play the thief in a twisted way

Arm up
Leg twist
Holding something valuable more then you think in your hands
Unknowing, is the worth of your loot
Failing at the most important rule of the game
You make me smile with your boyishness

Perhaps being a puppet to a clueless puppeteer was the wrong thing to do
Falling for a puppeteer that will only obliviously mistreat me was the worst thing I could do
Maybe
Because worrying about who you've given your love to just makes my heart ache
Because thinking of your newbie status in the life long game of love just makes me regret loving you
Because hoping for a chance to become yours just makes me tired
Because crying for you just reopens an old wound you have given me

It doesn't matter.
Why?
Simply because I trust ourselves
I know when the time is right, you will say "I love you too"
Until that time comes, I will wait for you.
Even if it takes a while
Possibly a few years,
Because,
I love you.
