Sometimes, all we need is a reminder that God is always with us when we face hardships... |
Remembering You My eyelids droop, my tongue is dry Blood trickles even; Oh, I am so tired so deathly tired… Satan approaches my door Nay, his pitiful face I see not But his demeanour I glimpse in the guise of tribulations under the veil of ugly emotions hidden beneath illness submerged within things of the world tempting me to be sucked into that void. I know he is knocking on my door He breaks through my defences Oh! What can I a lone human do? But as I struggle with unseen forces I remember my weaknesses not just mine, but yours as well I remember your welcoming arms Your warm smile, the gift of love not even the devil can hide from me I have never forgotten You My Creator, my Potter. You are my Saviour You came, You died and You rose because You know we need You because You know I need You. Oh Lord! Your rod and Your staff, shall protect me from evil giving me righteousness Your words of love, grace and truth shall pour blessings upon me bringing me salvation And set me free. Alas! My heart is brittle My soul grows weary, drained weather-beaten like those rocks I see How much more can I persevere without You? You are our Rock My Rock, O God The Rock of ages that will never crumble You, Lord ever so mighty That is the rock I lean on, The one watching over me, The one my life breathes on. Let me not stray from You lest I am entrapped by the world Come into my life, I pray Only You can save me! For all the sufferings You endured For all the work You laboured For all the blessings You imparted For all the miracles You performed I thank You Jesus Christ, the Son of God Mighty in power yet born small I know You did it for me. You are the lover of my soul My strong tower, my refuge My faithful Comforter My salvation, my Redeemer and above all Beautiful Saviour. - "Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) - |
