poem written shortly after 9/11....patriotic piece |
One name unknown Spoken proudly, spoken boldly Remembered amidst silence And unified sorrow A new breed of hero prevails As darkness turns to dawn Will the United States ever be the same As countless tomorrows slowly come? One life sacrificed, given into eternity To help those still lost and living In a moment of honor and valor Selflessly, lending their inner soul power Fate turned tragic, like a wand casting black magic Hearts of mortal men reduced to tears Shadowed within the dust in chaotic clamor Yet, through Heaven's gates They currently keep entering. One nation astounded Surrounded by the world's hopes and prayers Tears...anger...disbelief....linger in the smoke-filled air Emotions compounded by death everywhere But, a single embrace from a person near Helps ease the pain, lessen the fears Yes! Freedom has been attacked Fear has been invoked, the evil is real But soon, evil's license will be revoked! One flag flying high and mighty still People may suffer, but freedom will never be killed The flowing banner of red, white , and blue Has been tested again, yet-stands solid and true Symbolizing America's zest I'd wrap that colored cloth around my chest And wear it into the pits of Hell Like a bullet-proof vest To fight for one way of life, liberty, and justice. One is the only way for the world To gaze upon a safer day Unity for all, happiness...no pain One by one, we still push onward Until that glorious day our sadness and sorrows Are forever erased And we spend eternity with God In His kingdom of peace!! |
