Emma's Great Late Birthday

                        Emma’s Great late Birthday Party


When Emma woke on Saturday morning she was very exited. Today was her

birthday. She was going to have the biggest and best birthday party ever. Emma’s

mom sent invitations to all her friends. Mom was taking Emma shopping today to

get a new birthday dress. Mom and Emma ate breakfast then went shopping.

Emma picked out a pretty pink dress and lovely lavender shoes and a beautiful blue

bow for her hair. She couldn’t wait till all her friends saw her new dress. Emma

helped mom decorate the house for the party and then it was time to get dressed.

The party was at four-o-clock and Emma wanted to be ready on time. Four-o-clock

came and Emma was sitting by the front door waiting for her first guest to arrive and

she waited and waited and waited and no one came. “I don’t understand “said

Emma’s mom. Emma couldn’t believe it. Where were her friends? Maybe none of

them liked her at all. That thought made Emma so sad she ran up to her room and

cried. Just then the doorbell rang. Emma’s mom told Emma to come downstairs.

Emma’s best friend Abigail was at the door. “Hi Emma” she said. “I’m here for your

party. “But why are you so late “ asked Emma. “We’re not late, the invitation says

five-o-clock, here look” Abigail replied. Emma looked and sure enough it said five-o-

clock. “Oh my” said Emma’s mother. “ I wrote the wrong time on the invitations. I’m

so sorry Emma.” Then the doorbell rang again and again and again. All Emma’s

friends showed up. Emma was so happy to know that her friends liked her after all.

Emma ended up having the best birthday ever!
