A poem detailing the intricacies of lost love.
Frail beauty, too delicate to touch;
Your porcelain skin meant so much.
Silent tears fall down your face
Remaining forever frozen in place.
Your lovely lips, once tender and soft
Remind me of everything I've lost.
I can hear you calling to me,
telling me of how things should be.
Your dark hair frames you like a shroud
and all the while you scream aloud
against all that's left you blind,
against the prison in your mind.
Face the truth, you know he's gone.
He's left you here to rot alone.
So here you rest, in fragments of pain
Unwilling to trust anyone again.
False hopes and shattered dreams,
remnants of painful memories.
All that's left of love so great
has sealed your lips with threads of hate.
You've swallowed nails of corruption and deceit
Safeguarding yourself against words you speak,
And now your warning of treachery and lies
Can only be expressed through your eyes.
