Fairy Tales don't always turn out this way.. but still I pray to live in that day.
I lived in a world of Fairy Tale.
A place where my hero would not fail.
A place where I was free to run,
run towards the setting sun.

My hero never came,
and I learned to hide the pain.
It wasn’t supposed to turn out this way.
But I still pray to live in that day.
I did my best to see the dream come true,
but I was wrong to think I could believe in you.

My hero never came to carry me far away.
There were so many dragons left to slay.
My land divided in two.
Dreams I once held that would not come true.

Blackened clouds filled the air.
This pretty maiden holding on in cold despair.
My castle growing dark and cold.
My soul was all I had left unsold,
No knight to save me on this day.
No white horse to carry me far away.

I will leave this forsaken land
and try to understand
what love is with out the love of a man.

I will wonder deep in the forest of lies and deceit.
There I will let the tears fall that I weep.
I will fall to the cold hard ground,
and there I will lie and wait to be found.

The ground cover by sharp piercing thorns.
My dress bloody and torn.
My body shivering in the cold.
Demon’s swirling around me wanting my soul.
Tears streaking my cheeks.
My body growing weak.

Just inches away were the gates of hell.
I knew these big black gates well.
Theses gates had plagued me in my most unpleasant dreams
The ones you have where you can never scream.
They called out to me, taunting me
wanting to devoure me.

I have been running, running far away.
Gone are the days of my childish play.
I let my body fall to the ground.
My heart pounding uncontrolled is the only sound.
My entire body now drained.
My eyes swollen by the tears that I cried in vain.

Fairy God Mother if you exist
Please grant this tired girl but one single wish.
Let me fall into a deep exhausted sleep,
When I wake let there be no more tears this maiden weeps.
Take me away from this undesired pain,
But more than that let me wake to know love once again.

My eyes closed and the world faded away.
Almost peaceful in some kind of way.
I felt my body begin to ease.
I dreamed of harsh wind that traded with a warm breeze.
There was feeling of hope insight,
There was unspoken magic out tonight.

I woke to a voice of calmness whispering to me.
This one voice bringing me back to reality.
Out of the forest he carried me away.
Far from the uncertainty and dismay.
I was weak and lay like a child in his arms.
I knew this man brought no harm.

I remember being laid upon his bed.
The way he washed away the tears that I had shed.
“Sleep woman sleep, for the pain is gone,
Dream woman dream, for it has been to long.
In my arms I will hold you
In my arms I will comfort you.”

My head nestled heavy upon his chest
I closed my eyes and begun to rest.
Somewhere, somehow I hade lost my way.
Safety I found in the arms were I laid.
Brought from dark into the light
In his arms I would sleep tonight.

His body warm and next to mine.
His words whispered, calmed my mind.
We held each other deep through the night
Together we would wake in the predawn light.
Waking into the new day.
With him I desired to stay.

Fairy tales don’t always end this way
But still I pray to live in that day.
In a place where there are still butterflies
And rainbows appear in the evening sky.
A place where I desire to be
A place where there is love waiting for me.
