My take on a greek myth. Your opinion is wanted here. |
"I'm so sorry!" I heard her say as she got off of me. I rubbed my chest as it ached badly. "No probs" I managed to say without showing my pain. "Its just that..." she began "this is the spot I normally go to evernight. People never come so i didn't expect you to be there". "Its okay really" i said grining at her dark figure outline. "I was just going anyway" I said as I began to get up. "wait....don't go" she said with a sad look in her eyes. I lay back down and was surprised when she did the same. Instead of next to me she laid against my side with her head on my chest. I petted her gently and then just held herfor hours. She felt so comfortable I almost dozed off a couple of times. We didn't talk. No questions. I would wait until she was ready to talk. Pretty soon i found her sleeping peacefully. Is this really happening I thought. I fell asleep as the sun came up and when I awaoke she was gone. After smoking another cigarette I ran home. The weekend was torture as I couldn't forget that girl. Maybe I should of asked what was wrong. Now it was monday and still her sweet musical voice pushed asideany thought in my head. Which I didn't really mind anyway. What made it worse was that none of my friends believed me. Not even my best friend Alex thinks it could happen. By friday I had almost forgotten about her. My friends and I talked loudly as we walked with the huge mass of students to the school auditorium for the talent show. I raced and pushed scoring a sit in the middle. I had a great view of the entire performance floor. As the kids were hushed the lights went out and the performance floor lit up. The first act was pretty boring. Some kid trying to sing but was to nervous and didn't show much optimism. All of them really were lame but it was this or schoolwork. As the last act went on the stage I yawned. It was eleven kids, ten girls and one boy, wearing robes. The boy started singing "What is love" by haddaway. Thirty seconds into the song he suddenly stops. Two of the girls come from behid and tore the robe off. |
