A short paragraph...real |
In my own opinion, a longer school day wouldn’t be a very bright idea because us kids, we don’t like to get trapped in school for 8 hours a day. It would feel like you were a prisoner in jail for 8 hours. If we had a longer school day, I would get way less sleep than usual and I would get too tired day after day. Then, I would fall asleep in class. All of us, (including the teachers) would not concentrate very well. Let us get this straight. If I get home at 6:00 P.M., eat dinner with my family, read 30 minutes and finish my homework, then my after-school programs time would all be wiped out completely by a longer school day. I have swimming, tennis, piano, and ice skating lessons. Then my regular bedtime would be pushed to about…10:30 P.M. I love to get together with my mom, dad, and brother and have a short family time. I usually tell my parents about my school day. Then comes the longer school day, I wouldn’t get about any time with my family to chat, have fun, and do schoolwork with them. Art at home is almost unthinkable for my brother and me because we find it irresistible to draw, especially me. One of my preferred subjects is outer space and I won’t get to study it a lot. At home, I usually get to learn a million things and all that is erased from the list. You all know what traffic is, right? Well at 4:30-6:00 P.M. there is a traffic hour. People are returning from work and it slows down. It takes about, more than triple the time to get there, and then get back. Brentwood’s traffic leads to high air pollution, the car exhaust. Then the air pollution infects our health, other residents, and the environment too. Everybody gets tired. Our brain can’t concentrate and we don’t have enough energy to do things. If you’re tired, you’re grumpy, and when you’re grumpy, you’re not in the mood to study anything. My suggestion is that we add more school days (shorter summer break), than adding more time in the school period because us kids think 8 hours is just way too long! |
