My basic attempt at trying out poetry as means of putting across my thoughts and ideas
The Scream

Scared shivering covered from toe to head
Won’t open my eyes or get out of bed
Slowly lifting the sheets to see
If someone else can comfort me

Shadowy figures making signs at me
Wonder who on earth it could be
The noises that keep ringing in my ear
Is it real or my imaginary fear

Time to move on and snap out of bed
To see what’s happening out there instead -
Of whining like a sloppy frightened kitten
I will go out now bravely to the kitchen

There in the dark what do I see
But the door from out swinging to the breeze
Did I not lock this door before -
I went to bed and started to snore

Hey you out there you can’t frighten me
I am all prepared to fight you see
I have my great weapon that never fails
My mighty scream that can even wake the dead!
